The '1941'

The DURON 1941 is a tribute to resilience, brotherhood, and courage.

In 1941, on English soil, the Dutch Armed Forces were re-established. Dutch forces prepared to return to the continent and help liberate Europe.

It draws his inspiration from the legendary Dirty Dozen watches. The field watches issued to Allied troops during the Second World War. Built under strict military specifications, those watches were designed for clarity, durability, and absolute reliability in combat conditions.

This model carries that same philosophy.

Built for modern operators, collectors, and those who understand that time is not merely measured but earned.

The Story Behind The DURON '1941'

1940

The Netherlands Falls

During the German invasion of the Netherlands in May 1940, the Dutch armed forces fought to defend the country but were forced to surrender after several days of intense combat. Many Dutch soldiers, sailors, and airmen managed to escape to the United Kingdom to continue the fight alongside the Allies.

These men would form the core of the Dutch military forces in exile.

1941

Formation of the Brigade

In the United Kingdom, Dutch volunteers and soldiers reorganized and formed the Princess Irene Brigade. Named after Princess Irene of the Dutch royal family, the brigade represented the continuation of the Dutch fight for freedom.

The soldiers trained alongside British and Allied forces, preparing for the day they would return to liberate our homeland.

1944

Return to Europe

After years of training and preparation, the brigade landed in Normandy following the Normandy Landings. From there, they joined Allied forces pushing through Western Europe toward the Netherlands.

The brigade participated in several operations aimed at weakening German control and restoring Dutch sovereignty.

1945

Liberation of the Netherlands

The brigade took part in the liberation of multiple Dutch towns, including operations around Bavel and Tilburg. For many of the soldiers, this was the first time returning to their homeland since 1940.

Their efforts contributed to the broader Allied campaign that ultimately led to the liberation of the Netherlands.
